A long seller card game from 1950’s
The name “inu-bou karuta” originated from a proverb “inu mo arukeba bou ni ataru (anybody who tries to do something runs the risk of failing),”and this game is basic items for children.
Proverbs on the reading cards are given in hiragana and meaning of the proverbs are written the side of proverbs, so you can learn Japanese proverbs while playing this game.
Let’s memorize proverbs which have been friendly with Japanese since Edo period with simple and charming illustrations.
※The old form of a letters ”ゐ (wi),” “ゑ (we),” and “京 (kei),” are omitted.

Similar to the ordinary karuta cards;
Lay out taking cards and decide one person to read aloud the reading cards.
When the reader reads a card, players grab a corresponding taking card.
The player who got most cards at the end of the game is winner.
In addition to this, the association game to guess a proverb that taking card recall is available.
